Going to need to enroll in the Maine Coon Protection Program... - Rumbles

Mummy has lots of knickknacks that for some reason moved to a very high bookshelf after I joined the family.

There were two cookie jars that were left on the counter because they were large (pfft. Like that's a reason)

This is one:

This is the other (oops):

Needless to say, I have no idea what happened, but I suspect it was that evil walking fish that has caused me grief in the past...

I'm sure that all my anipals know about the walking fish. It sneaks into our houses and does horrible things like scratch the sofas, chew shoes, knock things over... and WE get the blame!! Humans never see the walking fish because it has hypnotic powers over them. Only cats and dogs can see them, and we're the ones that get the blame for the evil it does!

I ask you... is this the face of someone that could do something naughty?

I might have to dye myself orange and paint on some stripes to avoid trouble...

Independent front and rear Rumbles - Inigo

In case any of you doubted that my brother is a strange one, I have further proof. This is how he likes to sleep.

Yes, he actually is asleep in that photo. He was like that for about a half an hour. Daddy calls it 'Independent front and rear Rumbles' because he is soooo long that his front half doesn't know what his back half is doing most of the time.

He became aware that he was the subject of discussion and photos, but he wasn't really sure why. It didn't prompt him to move.

Nope. Still not moving. But fully awake at least.

He sleeps like that quite a bit, I don't know how he does it.

It's hard being the normal one in the house.

Proof we've enjoyed the holidays! - Inigo and Rumbles

Especially the ham. And the prawns. And the tuna.

We've been doing lots of zoomies to try and work off the xmas tum-tums, thank goodness we got some great jingle toys from our grandma!

This is still pretty darn fun.

Cuddling the mummy is a full time job - Inigo

Mummy and I have a long standing tradition of cuddles. Before Rumbles came, I would sleep along side her with my head on her pillow and she would put her arm around me like I was a teddy bear. I'd purr her to sleep.

After Rumbles joined the family, this lessened... mostly because Rumbles decided that all the mummy cuddles belong to him *harumph* I couldn't be fussed to argue it. I was a little put out to see him take up MY spot next to her, with HIS head on her pillow getting the teddy bear cuddles... but a good big brother puts up with such things.

Since mummy hasn't been feeling well, I decided it has something to do with the inadequacy of the Rumblepurr cuddling. Because of this, I've taken over my rightful cuddle spot.

Rumbles has not taken the news of his usurping well.

Last night he jumped on the bed and stood there, waiting for me to move. I didn't.

Then came the nudge. Gentle at first, but more insistent. I ignored him. He tried the nudge on mummy but she ignored him as well.

He moved to the bedside table and thought over his options. A few moments later came the POKE. First he poked me between the ears. I didn't react. Then he poked mummy's face. She didn't react.

Victory for ME!!! Rumbles retreated to knock things off of shelves, and I slept the night content in my cuddles.

Our award (finally!!!)

We're sorry mummy has been so slack with letting us blog, we've been very patient with her till now... but if she didn't get the lead out she was going to be getting some toe nomming tonite!

A MILLION thank yous to our friends, BOOTIFUL Katie and her HUBBA HUBBA mummy GloGirly! If you haven't see their blog, you need to!

This is such an honor, and with honor comes responsibility! So here are the rules:

  1. Copy and paste the Kreativ Blogger picture onto your blog.
  2. Thank the person who gave you the award and post a link to their blog.
  3. Write 7 things about yourself we do not know.
  4. Choose 7 other bloggers to award.
  5. Links to those 7 other bloggers.
  6. Notify your 7 bloggers.

And on to our facts!

Rumble facts:

(1)
When Inigo first came to live here he made himself right at home right away, but his favorite place was on his tower. In fact, Inigo loved his tower so much for the first two weeks Daddy would move the tower into the bedroom so that Inigo could sleep on it next to the bed (and it is not a small tower!)

(2) Inigo used to TELL on me when I did things that I shouldn't!! If I stood on one of Daddy's speakers (a no cat zone) Inigo would run around mewing till someone came and took me off! (Inigo quickly learned to run directly to Daddy rather than Mummy, 'cause Mummy would just take pictures rather than take me down)

(3) I have a real hatred of the Koala that lives on the shelf

Fluffle facts:

(4) Rumbles was once sleeping so soundly on the back of the sofa that he fell OFF and onto the floor... and didn't even wake up!!

(5) Everything that I do, Rumbles HAS to try. He's even got the 'ragdoll flop' mastered (but he's still not as good at it as I am)

(6) The one toy that Rumbles is not allowed to even go near is my beloved baby seal, Thwack. I think he knows that Thwack is off-limits, cause he doesn't even try

Rumblebum fact:

(7) When Daddy isn't home, we like to snuggle. We don't do it when he's around and it makes him think that mummy is telling tall tales when she says that we were snuggling.

And now, our seven friends!!

(1) George the Duck (cause we wanna know his secrets, he's a mighty fine duck)
(2) Our very articulate pal, Misha
(3) The lovely Miss Sweet Praline, who keeps us very entertained
(4) Cleo, who is far from grouchy!
(5) SUPER DANTE!!!
(6) Sparkle, of the sparkling wit and wisdom!
(7) Your Daily Cute - we wanna hear Moo stories!

Bad mummy...

Sorry all, mummy hasn't been well and she is neglecting our blog.

The good news is that she is paying more attention to US!

The bad news is that she isn't sharing us with you.

We'll be back soon - especially as we've won a cool award from our pals Glogirly and Katie!!

Once upon a time... Rumblepurr

...there was a handsome young cat-prince. We'll call him Bumblefur.

Prince Bumblefur was a mighty fine fellow. He kept the house safe from little bits of fluff that floated on the air, and made sure that all tuna-fish was well nomed.

Life was good in the Bumblefur kingdom... till one day an enemy emerged!

Nobody could understand where this evil rogue came from (it is suspected he came from Australia) but young Bumblefur knew that he had to keep the kingdom safe for his mummy and daddy, and also for his big brother Ruffletum.

Rendition of evil rogue - real rogue image far too frightening for family blog

At about 3am every night, unbeknownst to all but our Prince, the rogue comes to life on the shelf where he hides with the soft toys. The rogue flexes his claws and shows his teeth - sleeping mummy and daddy suspect nothing! Only Prince Bumblefur understands the danger!

With a mighty CRASH and a hearty THUD Prince Bumblefur sets into battle. Evil MUST be batted across the room and into submission! Zooming MUST be done afterwards, to make sure that no evil minions are lurking anywhere else in the house!

It is a thankless job for our fair Prince, and he asks for so little in return. The triumphant cuddles when he finishes his vanquishing and headbutts his mummy are thank you enough.

Flashback Friday - a tiny Rumble

Suffice to say, I no longer can do this... but that's ok 'cause I showed that TV lady who is boss...

(also suffice to say that Daddy had a small heart attack when he saw this photo, which is another reason that I can no longer do this, even if I could fit)

A RUMBLEstory - Rumblepurr

Mummy has left her flashy box at the work place, so we're off the hook for getting pictures this weekend! YIPPEE!! I figured I tell you a story instead.

Inigo is very  fond of getting attention to his head. He loves ear scritchies, and he'll start PURRING like you wouldn't believe when mummy kisses him between his ears.

Well, today I decided to get back on his good side so I could have MY blog back... when he was napping in the mouse house I peeked my head in and started washing the top of his head.

He LOVED it, and I got SO much praise for being kind to my brother...

So what was the upside for me you ask? Well....

The fur on the top of brothers head looks like it's been crimped for some reason - it's been like that since he was a kitten. It has a slight wave in it.  So what happens when you get wavey hair wet?

Heh heh heh. What a shame mummy doesn't have the camera.

More Inigo!

There is nothing better than a nest. I think I must have been a bird in a previous life, because I manage to make nests everywhere in the house!

(I'm keeping the little one away from the blog for a couple of days, just to even things out. Heh heh heh)

Well it's about time.

I've been waiting on some decent sunpuddles for quite some time now

Grumble grumble... I want SUN!

Maybe if I snooze, the sunpuddle will come out a bit more...

I think it's working... I can feel the puddle creeping up on me...

Yeahhhhhh.... that's the stuff!!!

The mouse house - Rumbles

We were given the BEST gift today!!! One of the nice people at mummy's work gave her this for us!

(I'm a bit blurry cause I was having so much fun!!)

(ok... maybe a bit TOO much fun)

And just to prove that I didn't hog it, here's a video of Inigo laying claim to the mouse house as soon as it came out of the plastic (he also laid claim to the plastic)

More investigation required

And some big brother supervision

We're taking turns now (mine mine MINE!!!)

We got an award! -Rumbles

Many thanks to our BOOTIFUL friend Danielle for this award!

The deal is, when you receive this award, you write 10 interesting and honest facts about yourself. Then, you pass it on to a minimum of 7 other cat blogger friends. So, here we go....

(1) We are both named for swashbucklers
(2) Daddy gave us both our first names, mummy gave us our second names... and they don't generally call us by either name!! I am 'Junior Jones' and Inigo is 'Boo Puff''
(3) Mummy really wanted to get a red Maine Coon, and daddy really wanted to get a grey one. When they saw my RUMBLEphoto they both fell in love. They each saw the photo separate to one another, and when they spoke later I was the only pussycat they could talk about cause I was JUST THAT CUTE!

(4) We both have a little white spot on us, Inigo has a white spot on his nose, I have a white spot on my head
(5) Inigo LOVES kisses on the head, he purrs like thunder when mummy gives him tiny kisses
(6) I have a marking on the right side of my head (and only on my right side) that looks like a phone headset. Mummy sings a silly song about "Junior Jones/has Junior bones/call him up/on his Junior phone. Loves his Mum/and the Flufflebum/can't be alone/when you got Junior Jones"
(7) Inigo hates for daddy to see him being soppy or cuddling with mum - he pretends to be big and brave
(8) I have independant front and rear paws
(9) We are both VERY good at looking innocent
(10) I LOVE drinking water from the tap, poor Inigo hasn't quite mastered how to do this (as much as he wants to)

Now to pass this award along - we wanted to pick some blogs that are new-ish (other than Misha, who we picked cause we wanna steal his secrets):

(1) Misha (we want some of your sexy secrets please!!)
(2) George the Duck (who will have the cutest secrets, we just know it)
(3) Dante - our very handsome new buddy!
(4) Cleo - who only PRETENDS to be a grouchy puppy, but is actually so very lovely
(5) Epic - another handsome red Maine Coon (stop looking Mummy!!!)
(6) Marley - THWOCK!!!!
(7) Dolly - who is so kind to everyone (and very very cute)

The battle for chair supremacy - Inigo

We got a new chair last week to help mummy and daddy with their console gaming in the living room.

The chair immediately became prized territory, even though by right it should be MINE. (I am top cat after all!)

It is covered in a black cloth, so mummy realized quickly the only way it'll survive is to put an old sheet on it, and one of my fleece blankies on top of that.

Brother and I have had a great many battles over the chair. If he is sitting in it, I'll sneak up and THWACK him with my mighty paw!

If I'm sitting on it, he POKES the underside of the chair till I get off.

Several of his misadventures have led to the chair being knocked right over! (nuthin to do with me, honest)

Mummy was beginning to regret getting the chair, since we've been having more wrestling matches since it came than we ever have.

Well, last night we settled our civil chair war.

Ooo, head washies... ok, maybe there is room for both of us...

Yeahhhhh... get that spot by my ear, I can never reach it!

Even my whiskers! Wow, you're a pretty good brother

Fine. Fine. You've earned a spot cuddling with me. I just don't know that this chair is actually big enough for the both of us... zzzzzzzzz

(I guess it is!)

Too much Facebook? - Rumbles

Sorry I've been away... I've been acting as DOCTOR Rumblepurr! Mummy has been very unwell with a sinus infection, and I've been watching over her every move in case she needs me.

As sick as she was, I still managed to make her laugh. The other night she was snuggled in bed, I went under the covers between her and daddy. Whenever daddy was disruptive (like when he moved or breathed) and there was a chance he might disturb mummy, I reached out my paw and POKED his face!!

Mummy laughed so much, so I kept doing it. Daddy was not so amused but as long as the mummy is happy...

Wendy's LOL-Spot: GET READY TO RUMBLE!

OMC!! We cannot believe it, we're LOL-cats!!

Our friend Wendy has done a whole post filled with the BEST LOL-cat captions we've ever seen (and we read LOL-cats every day!!)

Thank you so much Wendy - here is the post:

Wendy's LOL-Spot: GET READY TO RUMBLE!

We're also big fans of her majestic Maine Coon boy Dante - even if he is so handsome he makes some of our lady-cat friends heads turn... POLLY!!

To read about the adventures of Dante, his super cool brother Dylan and his BOOTIFUL sister Domino *Rumbles waving ear-tufts at Domino* you can visit their 3-D Cats blog.

Thank you again Wendy, we're going to be strutting around the house for the rest of the afternoon now that we're super cool cats!

Cause it's no fun/being a little Flufflebum - Inigo

I thought I found the perfect hiding place from that darn flashy thing, but mummy found me and thought it was 'SO CUTE!!'

A boy just can't get no peace in this house... not even in his cat cave!!

Hmm, maybe I'll go sleep in the NIP scented laundry!!! tee hee!

For anyone that is wondering, these are some fantastic European sized pillows that mummy went a bit mad over - she bought a bunch and some of them ended up in 'The BOY Room' where daddy keeps his computer. I crawled under one and on top of the other to make a nice warm cat cave.

If it's in The BOY Room, it must be made into a cat cave. House rules.

Easy like Sunday - Inigo/Rumbles

Life is tough on a Sunday. We get the tuna, Mummy usually puts something nice in the oven... and today she accidentally washed our favorite nip toy!! So now the clean clothes all smell of NIP!!!

Daddy took some photos of us both - we're watching them watching DVD's.

Inigo on his perch

Rumbles and his Baby Duck

I am very clear in my devotion - Rumblepurr

Mummy has lots of little knickknacks - when I joined the family these were put on the VERY high shelves for some reason.

I've grown into a VERY mighty MANCAT and I can now reach the high shelves!

Mum thinks it's so funny that the only thing I choose to attack is a little metal statue of Anubis... the puppy!

There are several Bast statues that are in easier reach... but why would I harm BOOTIFUL Bast? Nah, I'd much rather knock poor Anubis off again and again... he's now missing an arm and both ears. It doesn't matter where mummy moves him I still knock him off.

Humans are easily amused.

Behold... the brother! - Rumblepurr

Well, as promised, here is Mister Inigo Xavier Flufflebum - MY BROTHER!

Mummy took these photos before I came to join the family. It was the very first Xmas that mummy and daddy shared with brother, and they took him out to our grandparents house. (please note: I am forbidden from the grandparents house for reasons not fully understood by me... something about small fragile ornaments and large clumsy Coonie boys? I don't get it.)

Anyway - at the grandparents, Inigo was allowed out on the deck to look at the birdies. He didn't really care for them - they kept chirping at him in a menacing way... but he still managed to look very cute for these photos.

(the last photo is one of mummy's all time favorites)

By order of the daddy - Inigo

There have been a LOT of Rumbles photos these days. It SHOULD be MY turn... but daddy took these photos and he's been pestering us to put them up on the blog. I'll be the star next time.

(HINT TO DADDY: I photograph well too you know! *harumph*)

Look at all this excess floof!

Ok, he's a tiny bit cute. Just a tiny bit.

Silly Rumbles.
